Happy new year to everyone! And to the kind owners of Seoul Mart. It is a small mom an pop store but it has a surprising variety of high quality and fresh Korean groceries. They also have scrumptious Korean dishes and ready-to-cook items prepared in house in one section of the fridge. If you want Korean groceries, really there is no comparison in town.

I don't understand why the reviews for this place are so low. I always got along well with the store owner. The groceries here are pretty fresh, and they even offer a private parking lot which none of the other Asian groceries in Oakland have. It certainly isn't as big as some of the groceries in the Strip District however I don't think there are any other ones as conveniently located. Their frozen thin sliced beef tends to be pretty good quality compared to the Chinese grocery stores. They also have a good variety of Korean snacks.
